Technology is the core: McMakler compared to the industry

Inspired by a survey carried out by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, we wanted to pose similar questions to McMakler employees to decipher just how much technology has impacted our business, both internally and externally.

The original survey assessed the impact of technology on businesses, specifically property companies. We were curious to see how we compared to the wider industry. Below, we have benchmarked our employees’ responses against the results of the RICS survey.

Our version, which was completed by 132 employees, revealed how intertwined and integral technology is to the McMakler business model. As one of the leading real estate transaction platforms in Germany, we have worked hard to implement tech solutions to solve longstanding problems. The results of this survey confirmed to us that we are doing something right.

Following are answers our employees gave:

1. Where would you rank McMakler in regard to utilizing digital technology across work streams and service, on a scale of 1–10, where 1 is no adoption and 10 is fully adopted?

83.5% ranked our adoption between 7–10.

Whereas, in the survey carried out by the RICS, only 29% of people surveyed said that their organisation ranked between 7–10 in regard to adoption of PropTech across work streams.

From AI applications and extensive data evaluations to moderated virtual tours and screen sharing, our digital technologies are utilised in almost every part of our business offering.

2. Do you feel McMakler is well positioned to leverage maximum value and insights from its data?

82.5% of our participants said yes.

In the original survey, only 53% agreed with this statement. This shows how much importance McMakler places on its data. We recognize it is a vital way to improve our offering.

3. Do you use the digital technology provided by McMakler for your daily tasks?

96.1% of our employees use our tools to go about daily tasks. Be this using our AI technology and analysis tools, online calendar for our customers or thousands of dashboards for reports, digital technology is the foundation for our entire business.

4. Does McMakler have a digital or data strategy?

74% of McMakler employees felt our company had a clear strategy. In comparison, for the survey carried out by the RICS, only 53% said yes to this statement.

Having a clear digital direction is fundamental to our organisation. It underpins almost all of the work that we do, and our digital offering is at the core of the company’s overall strategy.

5. Do the digital technologies McMakler is using increase productivity and client satisfaction?

88% of McMakler employees agreed with this statement. This was echoed in the original survey by the RICS, where a similar 83% of respondents agreed that tech solutions were increasing their productivity. This shows how the industry as a whole is realising the importance of tech integration.

For McMakler, technology always supports the team in carrying out its work seamlessly and ensuring client satisfaction.

What can we take away from the survey?

Technology is at the core of the McMakler offering and our employees are confident in implementing our tech solutions.

Tech is intertwined with everything that we do. That’s not surprising, given that we like to practice what we preach to our customers.
